Luis Lionel Andrés Messi, born on June 24 1987 to Argentinean parents is a football player for the reigning Champions of the Spanish football league, La Liga, and the UEFA Champion’s League, FC Barcelona. According to his official website the Number 30 of Barcelona, Messi, stands at 169 centimeters or 5 feet and 7 inches and weighs 67 kilograms or 147.71 pounds.
It is stated that a low center of gravity could actually be an advantage to football players. Lionel Messi is one of the shortest players in the world. Although lacking in height, his speed and agility make up for this. With speed and agility, he is able to evade the tackles of his opponent and with his power and accuracy he is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He is often compared to or thought of as a second Maradona. While Messi stands at 169 centimeters, his national’s team’s coach and former football player, Diego Maradona, stands around 165 centimeters.
Like other shorter players, they are quick on their feet and quick to accelerate. This is due to the fact that with their relatively small stature they have a low center of gravity which makes them quick on turns and acceleration.
